Recently the chic and newly crowned “Boston’s Best Nightlife Hotel” the Liberty welcomed guests into their stylish event Fashionably Late. The evening was the opening of its winter edition of designer presentations featuring Boston bred, School of Fashion Design graduate and NYCFW stunner Alexandra Renee Bianchi.

Her first set of looks were focal on patchwork patterns, simplistic solids, and midriff accent. Three different dresses donned the Dynasty Models in the mixture of denim from a crop top skirt suit, mid length and seductive off the shoulder. The deep dungaree fabric made an appearance in the final two pieces. One mini showed with a strategic v cut top, closing with a spruce of spring paired with nude, a peek of pastoral in must have corset!
The second set of looks to hit the Fashionably Late runway exposing the simplicity of details has its own seduction. Satin gowns were predominate in earthy shades, floral stitching and block strip stripes that represented a staple in the collection. The showstopper of the evening was a canary yellow bust-line cut, knee length dress with a Ferrari red lining that whipped as the model moved giving confirmation of the designer’s talent.
Closing the catwalk was a full spectrum of imagination that showed Bianchi’s full vision. A hint of leather, satin, patterns with each piece having impeccable tailoring. Two iconic representations of the designer made way in tasteful all pitch-dark body hugging dresses. Catching all eyes was a deep emerald gown reminiscent of royalty in the Roman Empire. Alexandra stepped outside her comfort zone with creating a black and white checkered cocktail fit to gain attention when entering the room. Lastly, slipping into the brand new SS25 collection was an adorable midnight chiffon with a trimmed top and pops of sun-kissed petals.

I was able to catch up with the designer backstage and gain insight into the ensembles. Ali, Is there a name for this collection? Bianchi replied, “IzMae, it is a little nod to one of my daughters nicknames.” Is there an inspiration behind it? Ali added, “With this collection, I didn’t have a clear direction; I let the fabrics guide me as I created. I initially discovered a retro Art Deco fabric that I planned to use as the heart of the collection. While selecting fabrics, I was inspired by the lines and colors of this material. As I began creating, my direction and inspiration from both the ‘70s and 2000s remained, but I started to explore the fabrics in a new and experimental way. I am so accustomed to working with laces and silks, so introducing denim and leather—fabrics I hadn’t used much before—was a refreshing and eye opening challenge. I allowed the fabrics to lead the process.”
