Boston Fashion Awards 2017
Every year when the holidays roll around you can expect a highlight in Boston fashion to announce the party location and the nominees in each category for the Boston Fashion Awards. For 2017 the event was held in The Supper Club at Capo’s with a local celebrity line up of hosts; emcee Maverik, daytime personality from Jam'n 94.5 who rocked with his Caribbean flavored tracks. Alongside Maverick was MTV reality show personality Nicole Spiller plus NESN TV hostesses Kylie McCoy and Bianca Reyes.

It wouldn’t be a show without some exclusive designers showcasing and a cocktail dress focus from SooDee Boutique featuring bold Inga Jewelry Designs was first to hit the Boston Fashion Awards runway. Others featured were; Manny Sorto, VaVa who showed a collection of Roman reds, leather and gold also Early Birds with a sexy and seductive line of custom leather jackets.
In a traditional awards fashion in between the announcements of category winners were live performances. Who knew Maverik wasn’t just a DJ. He performed a few of his singles and left the stage stunned from his hidden talent. The alluring female trio Eclypse gave us their rendition of Christmas favorites and Devin Ferreira with his vocals and saxophone. Rocking the stage for the evening was front runners The Natalie Joly band.
The night’s attendance featured top industry professionals like nominated photographer Dan Miniucci, Denise Hajjar nominee for couture wear and Gustavo Leon recipient of the Fashion Achievement Award were just a few of many out at the annual event.

The evening ended with an elegant lace runway presentation from the Isabel Lopez Spring/Fall Collection that had guests wondering what’s next for 2018 fashion in the Hub. The Boston Fashion Awards carefully selects its nominees each year and leaves the voting up to the public. They express that it is always such a tuff battle to bring each category to only a few with so much established and budding talent in the city.
